Network aways congested according to network optimisation
Network optimisation says WiFi congested . Went i run optimise says perfect . If I run the tool again says it is congested ! Am I right in thinking the channel is congested due to 35 devices connected , when I run optimisation is changes the channel , which is now congested because of my 35 devices are all on the same channel ?
Was exited when I saw the feature as my ps4 both only get 30mg down and 3mg up despite having 500mb down and 40 up on speed tests through deco app ?

Hi, is there any specific issue when the network always reported congested, like slow speed, unstable connection, etc.?
If not, there is no need to scan the network frequently, your network should be clear and good. Most importantly, if the Wi-Fi channel is changed too frequently, it may cause an unstable issue on the client devices, some devices may disconnect from the network and reconnect.

Thank you very much.

Hi,
If possible, would you please do a screen-recording about the network optimization?
And since Deco M5 supported band steering, so normally not all the 35 devices are connected to the 2.4ghz(channel 1-13) or 5ghz(channel 36-165).
Thank you very much.

Thanks a lot for your kind reply.
We have reported this issue to the senior engineers already and this feature would be gradually improved during the later firmware upgrade;
Really sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you very much for your understanding and support.

@TP-Link I have the same problem. 3 x Deco M5 units. I had first connected via router supplied by ISP. Over the weekend took that out and set up my main unit as incoming router. From then on I had this problem. Everytime I check Network optimization, I get the message of network congested and I need to optimise. We have about 10 devices connected.

I am also experiencing this issue. Our connections are super spotty since the last update and the network optimization is *always* reporting congested. Is there a time estimate for a firmware fix for this issue? We are working from home and need reliable wifi. Should we attempt the downgrade?

Hi, the latest firmware for Deco M5 is 1.5.3, if possible, could you please try to update the following firmware via the web interface: http://tplinkdeco.net to have a look:

https://static.tp-link.com/2021/202102/20210219/Deco_M5_V1_V2_V3_210203.zip
Thank you very much.

I am not able to access the web interface to update the firmware. I have tried both the http://tplinkdeco.net url as well as the LAN IP address here and neither will load a web interface. I have also tried to update the firmware in the Deco app but it says it is up to date with the 1.5.1 version and will not allow me to update to 1.5.3.
Please advise.

Hi, would there be any error message when the web UI is not accessible?
How about changing to another browser?
By the way, are you able to ping the http://tplinkdeco.net as well as the LAN IP address?
Thanks.
