Model: TL-MR6400
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 200511 Rel.43036n

Hi,

I am new to the forum. Nice to meet everyone.I just purchased a MR6400 prior to my travel in coming 4 days.

The device does not detect SIM no matter what I try. I have tried a lot of things! No specific error, it just does not detect any SIM card. The following diagnostics done:

  1. No visible physical damage
  2. Reboot/Resets
  3. Checked with multiple SIMs from different providers (AirTel and JioFi) (that were working on multiple other 3G/4G phones)
  4. SIM has no PIN lock
  5. SIMs are nano sim with micro adapter frame and sticker
  6. In Wireless router mode with ethernet WAN, it works fine
  7. Firmware says latest
  8. NTP and time is set

Debug log level system logs (mac scrubbed):

Makes sense. I took your advise and did exactly that. Got replacement product within hours and it now works. I can vouch that your solution is 100% on point because I spotted a difference between my initial product and the replacement one.

The original device sent to me had a push-toggle SIM slot and the new one has a friction mount slide-in SIM slot. This leads me to believe that the hardware was upgraded to be more stable with various SIM cards. I wish this post helps people to quickly resolve their issue since TPLink does not have this as any notice/disclaimer on product pages.
