Region : UnitedKingdom

Model : TL-WDR4300

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : : 3.13.17 Build 120426 Rel.29216n

ISP : Sky

I am trying to setup my ftp site.

My internet address appears as

FTP Server Configuration

Server Status: Started
Internet Access: EnableDisable
Service Port: (The default is 21, do not change unless necessary.)
Internet Address: 192.168.0.3

How does my ftp site get active, it keeps the 192.168.0.3 address.

I have enabled and saved hoping this will allow it, but no joy.

Any tips?

After adding new folder to share, use the WAN IP address on the status page to access ftp.

I think the problem is the IP address192.168.0.3, this is a private IP not a public ip that you can view over the Internet. The modem or modem router from sky has already block the ftp server from Internet. Do the port forwarding on your sky device for the IP address192.168.0.3 and service port is 21 before you can view the ftp server because you have two routers in your house.

IP Address: 192.168.0.3 is your router address? Please check ftp access from another location (another IP address) not form your network.

I got the same problem, I have use the WAN IP of the router, and follow the instruction to set the router, but I can't enable the FTP function. And I find that the port 21 is seemed to be blocked when click the "Enable " radio of Internet Access. However, no matter the status of Internet Access, I can't enable FTP function of the Router.

Did you check ftp access outside your location, from another IP? Local access is everything ok?

I have this same problem. I am not able to access the ftp from internet but can locally. I did a port scan (21) from a site on the internet and it shows the port is open. Help please.

EDIT: It is accessible when accessed from a connection other than my internet connection. But from within my WLAN, the external IP access doesn't work. Not sure why.

Using external IP address from a pc within your LAN depends on NAT loopback. Not sure why one would like to use an external IP address...

Port 21 isn't enough for getting FTP to work, one should also add a passive port range according to the configuration of the FTP server.

Hi,
I had the same problem with FTP server not beeing accessible from WAN.

I updated to the latest firmware (3.13.31 Build 130319 Rel.57876n) and tried setup the FTP.
It worked through LAN but didn´t work through WAN, although "Internet Access" was enabled.

I managed to fix it, by turning off the "Internet Access" feature and creating a forward rule myself.
To do that, you need to create a "New virtual server" under "Forwarding".

Service Port: 21
Internal Port: 21
IP Adress: Your routers Local IP (192.168.0.1 maybe)
Protocol: ALL (maybe TCP would be enough)
Status: Enabled
