I am having the exact same issue with wdr-3600 with the exact same hard drive .. I partitioned the 3TB hard drive into 3 parts of almost 1TB each using Windows disk management .. It is NTFS and GPT partioning scheme since its more than 2TB. Still the router does not detect the drive. Can you provide the steps to make it work. Also giving more details about the partition.

I am having the same issue with a Seagate Expansion series 4TB drive. I have checked the drive and its fully operational. The router recognizes a 4GB Data traveller usb stick but will not display or recognize the Seagate drive. Doesn't work when partitioned either. Please help.

What's the partition format of your hard drive? Mine is MBR which is working fine, but can only recognize the first 2TB part of the drive.
