Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.3.7 Build 20200723 rel.33309(4555)

Hello,

how do I gain access to beta firmware for the Archer C6 v2.0? I can't find any download pages for beta firmware, only some links in this forums. I currently running "1.3.7 Build 20200723 rel.33309(4555)". Is this the current Beta version or is there a newer build?

Best Regards

Hi, may I know what is the issue you encountered with your Archer C6? Did you get the 1.3.7 beta firmware from our engineer or from other users? Please be aware that we DON'T suggest any of you upgrade to any beta version provided by other users, as their issue may not be exactly the same as yours, that beta firmware may be specially made for him only and will not work for you.

Please provide as more details as you can about your C6 issue, and we will try to help you out, thanks.

@Kevin_Z

Thanks for the response.

I initially updated from 1.2.1 to version 1.3.6 via the auto updater, but I started having noticeable ping spikes in my 5 GHz WLAN. So I checked the forum and found a link to the 1.3.7 beta firmware in this thread: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/217350. After updating to 1.3.7 I didn't experience any spikes anymore, but had some other strange behavior like the 5GHz network being suddenly invisible/not detectable for all devices (while the green 5GHz LED on the device was still on). After restarting the device everything worked fine again. So I asked myself, whether there is a more current version.

I'm running my C6 as Access Point with DHCP disabled and auto channel selection for both 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz.

Hello, thanks for the detailed info.

If that is the case, please try to modify the 5GHz wireless channel first on the C6, then monitor again. We currently don't have a newer beta for the specific issue.

Nice day.
