I have correctly configured the ports on the virtual server but they are always closed.

Have you checked the internet IP address on the modem to see if it is a public IP?
Since if it is not a public one, which means there would be one more firewall out of the modem, you might need to open the related ports on the service provider side;
And if possible, please also check if you could access the 192.168.0.222 via local LAN network;
