Model: RE650
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.6 Build 20180719 Rel. 36926

I AM using TPLINK ARCHER C6 as my main router , which is a dual band router .

Harware Version:   Archer C6 v2.0
Firmware Version:  1.1.5 Build 20191112 rel.36515(5553)

Currently I have unchecked " smart connect" option from router admin page which allows me to select 2.4ghz or 5ghz .

I am now trying to extend this network using TPLINK EXTENDER MODEL: RE650 .(Which is also a dual band WIFI extender)

While configuring I was able to extend by Archer C6( my main router)  2.4ghz channel , but somehow it's not even showing 5ghz channel  while configuring from  Tplink extender's RE650 admin page . Please find below screenshots for your reference :

I have  reset RE650 and tried hitting on "Rescan" button  , but that does not helped .

Can you please advise and help me on this .

@Biswajit_Dey

Good day.

Please help us check the following information:

  1. Did the Archer C6 work fine all the time?
  2. Please go to settings>wireless>connect to network>click the wireless scanner under 5ghz, would you see any 5ghz network available?
  3. If possible, please also try to change the channel on the C6, such as channel 40 for 5ghz: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2292/
  4. And if the RE650 is not on the latest firmware, please also try to manually update the firmware to be the latest:

Thank you very much and wait for your reply.

@Solla-topee

Thanks for your response . Yes my Archer C6 is working fine.

I just updated the firmware version of RE650:

Still RE650 is not able to detect my available 5ghz signal from ARCHER C6 router .

Please advise on this .

Have you changed the wireless channels on C6 as well? And if not 5ghz of C6, are you able to detect other 5ghz networks? Thanks a lot.

@Solla-topee

Thanks again for your response.

I did changed the 5ghz channel bandwidth to 40 . But that also failed , I am still facing the same issue .

I don't have any other device which can emit 5ghz wifi signal.

I am returning this back to Amazon in 2days , just lodged a return request today for complete refund.

Thanks again for trying and giving your time .
