TL-WDR3600 - Can't reset or connect
Hello,
I purchased a TL-WDR3600 N-600 router second hand and I cannot get it working.
I have tried holding in the WPS/Reset button for 10 seconds many times.
I have tried the 30-30-30 method many times.
I have tried 3 separate power supplies.
WiFi Lights show, but no network shows available.
I connected via Ethernet cable, and windows 10 lists it as connected, but an unidentified network and no IPv4 address are listed under the connection details.
Ping test to 192.168.0.1 and 1.1 fails.
One thing that might be irregular is the WPS light is constantly flashing, as though its constantly trying to connect, but it doesn’t progress.
Is there an alternative way to reset the router, or is it busted and only good for the bin?
Thank you.

Hi, when you press and hold the reset button, how about the LEDs on the router, are they flash off then on, including the PWR LED?
When you connect a computer to its LAN port, please confirm if you can get an IP address from it, such as 192.168.1.100, if not, there might be little we can do.
You may refer to this article below and see if you can do anything on your unit:

May it help.

Hello, you can refer to my previous suggestions for shortshirt, if none works, I guess your router might be faulty, you are suggested to contact the local tech support for further suggestions if it is still in warranty:

Hi Kevin,
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
When I press or hold in the WPS/Reset button there is no change to the LED lights, they dont react to the button being pressed.
I thought that perhaps the button was broken, But if I hold the button whilst turning the WDR3600 on the only lights to show are the Power and the WPS and they are solid with no flashing.
I can confirm that I cannot get an IP address from it, such as 192.168.1.100. Or get a reaction from chrome with this address.
I have tried the link https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/1482/ from your suggested article and I cannot still obtain a link between PC and router.
I will try the other link to see if I can recover the device that way. Do you know if the WDR3600 supports TFTP recovery?
Thank you again.

Hi Kevin,
Seem to have had some success with reflashing the firmware with the TFTP recovery. Although it hasnt recognised the firmware file listed under the TP-link support pages.
I think the issue could be the version i am using. The sticker on the back of my router is v1.5, whilst all the downloads are only for version 1.
Do you know where I could find a v1.5 or even are universal or basic firmware to just check if it is working?
Thank you.

Hello, the hardware version V1.5 should use the same firmware for V1, so there is no difference.

Hi Duarch, unfortunately not. I think maybe it was broken or I bricked it in the process!
Ended up getting something similar on ebay.
Cheers.
