Region : UnitedKingdom

Model : TL-MR3220

Hardware Version : V2

Firmware Version : v3.14.4 (latest, dated 26-Nov-2012)

ISP : T-Mobile (EE)

Has anyone got this combination to work?

I have a brand new Huawei E392u-12 4G USB modem, and a brand new TP-Link TL-MR3220 3/4G router.

The Huawei E392u-12 4G USB modem is the model supplied by EE in the UK to all new data customers (and as EE is the *only* 4G network in the UK until late 2013/early 2014, it is rather important that 4G router products work with it!).

I have updated the router's firmware to the latest state, v3.14.4.

The modem is correctly recognised, and United Kingdom T-Mobile correctly identified.

However, the router then just sits there, saying 'Connecting...' - but it never does. I have left it for some time but it never connects.

The modem and the service are both fine - I can plug the modem directly into a laptop PC right next to the router and it connects just fine (albeit only at 3G+ with a typical d/l speed of ~1.6Mbit and u/l speed of ~500kbit).

I cannot see a modem download file for the Huawei E392u-12 on TP-Link's website for the UK. (There is one for Portugal, but I assume this has 'Portugal-specific' settings?).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the replies, chaps.

I did follow the instructions detailed in http://www.tp-link.com/en/article/?id=400 but it still didn't work.

I then contacted EE and a couple of days later they provided the following information "for the APN settings"
Name: Internet
APN: general.t-mobile.uk
Username: user
Password: pass
MMSC: http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002/
MMS proxy: 149.254.201.135
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 234
MNC: 30
Authentification: PAP
APN type: default

So, I plugged it all together again (in order to try manually entering the above)... and it connected just fine, without my changing anything! Don't you just love a mystery?

My guess would be that something in the network had been updated in the meantime, which now allows the modem to connect, whereas before it didn't. By the way, I didn't get around to testing the 'Portuguese' modem .bin file, as it started working before I would have gotten to that point.

Anyways, right now it's working, so I'm content.

I used a original SIM free Huawei E392u-12 modem and it work fine with the MR3220 router.
