MR600 Carrier Aggregation Issue
MR600 Carrier Aggregation Issue
Region: India
ISP: Airtel
LTE Bands: Band 1, Band 3, Band 8, Band 40
Hello,
I'm using the frst beta firmware to manually enable carrier aggregation on MR600, however I've come across the following issues:
1. Manually selecting Band 3 and Band 40 enables the 4G+ mode, but the bands don't remain aggregated indefinitely. Sometimes it remains aggregated for an hour or more while sometimes it remains aggregated only for a couple of minutes. Once the aggregation is lost, the router switches back to Band 40.
Why is this happening? Is this an issue with the router or with the cellular tower?
2. My ISP supports intraband aggregation for Band 40, but the MR600, even after manually selecting both bands to Band 40 doesn't aggregate them. The advanced page shows that the router is still using single Band 40. The possible CA combinations on the first page shows that intraband Band 40 aggregation is supported on the MR600.
Again, is this an issue with the router? My iPhone always aggregates Band 40 which gives me the best speeds, so I'm sure that the tower is capable of allowing intraband Band 40 aggregation.
I'd really appreciate if someone can help me out here.
Thanks.

Hello, thank you very much for your time and patience.
For the band aggregation feature on the MR600, which bands are chosen to aggregate and how these bands are aggregated with each other, they are decided by the cellular tower.
So far, we could still not make sure the issue is on the MR600.
And I wonder if you have a second device which could be used to make a comparison;
Thank you~

Hi Airtel and JIO both Indian providers supports 2XCA combination in All Indian metros on band 40 with 40A-40A combination and with 3A-40A combination.
But MR600 only supports 3A-40A only for Airtel. And MR-600 currently does not support 40A-40A combination which is well supported by many Indian manufactured mobile devices such as Samsung Galaxy J8, J7 Pro, S7, Oneplus 6, 7, Redmi Note 9 Pro. Poco F1 & F2 etc.
TP-Link please implement 40A-40A combination to support 2CA carrier aggregation on Indian providers such as Airtel and JIO on your next general firmware keeping the 4G band selection feature.
If you support this 40A-40A combination on MR-600, your MR-600 product will lead the market and it will be the only one best 4G+ wifi router in the Indian market.

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem, Automatic carrier aggregation does not work in MR600. With the help of beta firmware, when i force band 3 and 5 for Jio, Carrier Aggregation works. But the most common Carrier Aggregation with Band 40 + band 40 does not support in this Router. As of now i see that in JIO only Bnad 3 and 5 combination works. I see a lot of people are reporting this problem in TP-Link forum and would like to see a fix from you at the earliest.
