I received my Deco M4R  and tried to setup numerous times. But, it keeps saying unable to connect to the internet. I have already keyed in the username and password according to my unifi agreement!

Is your ISP unifi in the MY? If so, when you configure the main Deco, have you entered VLAN ID?

@TP-Link_Deco  of course, unifi from Telekom. How do I know what's the VLAN ID & priority??

The VLAN ID & priority are provided by your ISP, if you don't have the information, it's suggested to contact your ISP.

@TP-Link_Deco  so when do I set up this VLAN ID and internet priority? I connected my Deco to the router and when it was trying to set up internet connection and connect to it, deco light turns red. Then it tells me it's unable to connect. Do I select skip this and go to the main page on the app to key in the VLAN ID?

Yes, you can try as you described.

The other way is that when you configuring the main Deco, you can set up the VLAN settings in the step 11.

@TP-Link_Deco I have selected the VLAN ID & internet priority. It still does not work. There's no internet connection!

Hi,

Whether you have entered your configuration information on your modem thus there is no need to set up on the Deco? Do you have internet bypass the Deco and connect to your modem directly?

 

2. If not, do you have the old router which can work with your modem and provide internet to your clients? If yes, you can connect Deco to the old router to have a try. In this case, Deco just need to set up the Dynamic IP connection.
