  @TP-Link

I have the same exact issue as @Malice on page 2. My main node is connected to the ISP router with one satellite connected just a little further away. It is running in Access Point mode. I have an 800Mbps connection and normally get around 2-300Mbps via Wifi on most of my devices.

Initially I got the Deco M4 network to work just fine on both units but after awhile, about an hour or so it would cap the connection back to around 94Mbps down and 94Mbps up consistently. Power reboot will fix the issue momentarily but will eventually revert back to 100Mbps.

The firmware is running on build 1.5.4.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I dont understand why these products would be released if they were faulty. It seems like this has been an ongoing issue for many users for 2 years judging from the amount of topics and responses with people having the same issue yet there has yet to be a definitive fix for it.

  @MDior

Hi currently, based on the troubleshooting with some users,  the Ethernet cable between the main Deco and the ISP router is always related.

Would it be possible to change another good quality cable for the further test?

And may I know the model number of your ISP router?

By the way, could you please only leave the main Deco M4 and unplug the satellite M4 to see whether the issue still existed.

For more details, please also have a look at this link:

[Troubleshooting]Deco LAN speed is capped to 100m/s

Thank you very much.

  @David-TP

So upon switching to the spare cat6 cable I had laying around it seems to have stabilized for now! Thanks for the suggestion. Just a bit odd because previously the cable had been used just fine for other devices but I do suppose its a bit old now.

Much appreciated! If anything changes I'll be back here again. :)

I can also confirm that replacing the cable that came in the box with a proper cat5e cable fixed the 100mb/s cap issue

If you just got M4, you probably still have your old router around.

Undo network changes you did for Deco, bring old router back and set it as it were before Decos.

Power off all Satellite Decos.

Connect Main Deco to router.

Change  Deco Operation Mode to Access Point.

Connect laptop to second port of Main Deco.

Run speedtest from laptop.

If you are still not getting better than 100Mbps, it is possible you have Deco E4 instead of Deco M4. They look very similar but E4 has 100Mbps Ethernet ports, M4 has gigabit ports.

If you'll get full speed of 300Mbps, you'll know there is something in M4 configuration settings when you run Deco in Router mode, and you could focus your attention there.

I was going through the same dilemma and this certainly solved my issue.

I thought I bought the M4 but it turns out I have the E4 and you're right, the E4 only has 10/100 Ethernet ports.

I am on a gigabit plan 1000/50 and my PCs via Ethernet run at 900Mbps down on speed test.

I guess I'll need to replace the E4 with M4 that has 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports.
