Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0

Hello, I have a Tp-Link AC1750 wireless dual gigabit router and recently bought the Deco M3 system (Deco M4R + 2 Deco M3W) for better coverage at a 3-floor house.

What would you recommend to have the Deco + AC1750 working together? I wish to maximize the use of all these resources.

Shall I use all deco units as Access Point resources connecting the main Deco wired to the AC1750?  (The AC1750 is wired connected to de ISP modem)

I appreciate your support

Thank you

Hello, you can use them together  to boost the wifi signal.

First, you can use the AC1750 as the main router and the Deco as access point. ISP modem--AC1750--Deco M4R )))(((Deco M3W x 2

Or you can use the Deco M4R as the main router and connect the AC1750 to the Deco to boost wifi signal as an access point.

ISP modem--Deco M4R--AC1750

                                      )))((( Deco M3W

You can refer to the articles below to get the difference between router mode and access point mode.

Thank you Kevin, I appreciate the prompt response. Good to know I can integrate these for better Wi-Fi signal. I believe it make more sense to have the AC1750 connected to de Deco as an AP to keep functions like Parental Control, Access Control and Qos. Is there any white paper or support link I could follow to connect this type of router as a AP to the DECO system? Regards!

Hello, we have some AC1750, so not sure what is the model number, below we take Archer C7 as example.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2066/

The steps to configure the router into access point mode are the same.

May it help.
