OpenVPN Client
Is TP-Link ever going to release an update that allows OpenVPN Client to run on their home routers?
I see I can get an Asus RT-AC51U for good price but I do not really want to replace my current TP-link routers?

Hello,
There is currently no plan to add the support for OpenVPN client settings on the Archer C6, it only offers a VPN server (OpenVPN and PPTP).
Good day.

Same thing with Archer AX1500 when will they offer OpenVPN client functionality on the router?
Or is this something that they will never provide?

Hello, the Archer C6 supports OpenVPN server only now. While for the request to support OpenVPN client has been noted; We will forward it to our product department and they will work on it and evaluate.
You can wait for the updates.
Good day.

Hello, the Archer C6 V2 supports OpenVPN, no need to flash the third party firmware. Below is the instruction:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1544/
And the Archer AX50 supports OpenVPN also.
May it help.

@Kevin_Z Please read what I posted again
I am looking for "OpenVPN Client" ability
So the router would be connecting to another OpenVPN server
It would not be the server

I misunderstand what you said, there is no OPVN “client‘’ mentioned on your last reply; that is why I wrote that the router support OPVN server only.
Like what I replied at first, it supports OPVN server only, the feature to support OPVN client will be forwarded to our product department.

No OpenVPN, really?
Yeah, this is really disappointing. I purchased a TP-Link Archer AX1100 router expecting things like VPN client to be standard. I have an old Asus router that worked just fine as a VPN client. Come to find out this new TP-Link router does not support OpenVPN. I guess I'll have to return it. This is absolutely necessary for today's users. I just thought this was a standard by now.

I was using Asus RT-AC68U and it was working perfect but when I decide to upgrade to WIFI 6 I chose AX6000 but seems not a good decision as from day one I am facing a lot of problems with WIFI , WAN link speed also OPENVPN not working ?
I hope the problem will be fixed ASAP.

Hello, thanks for reporting this issue.
If the OpenVPN server on your AX6000 is not working, please help verify some details and we will try to figure it out:
1. Kindly check the below VPN setup instructions again to confirm all the settings on the AX6000 are correct:
How to use OpenVPN to access your home network through the Wi-Fi Routers
BTW, please also provide us your network topology.
2. If the above guide doesn't help, please tell us what is the WAN IP address of the AX6000 and it is suggested to configure the DDNS:
How to set up TP-LINK DDNS on TP-Link Wireless Router?
3. Please check the VPN Tunnel: login the web interface, and on the VPN Server-> VPN Connections, we can see the status of the VPN Server, confirm if there is a VPN connection enabled. If not, which means the VPN setup is not successful.
4. Check whether you've set block ICMP from LAN port: we will block the ICMP from different LAN subnets by default, so if you don’t uncheck it, it will block this session.
