Extremely Slow 2.4GHZ
Extremely Slow 2.4GHZ
I have 60mbps bandwidth. On 5GHZ I get 57mbps+ speed but on 2.4GHZ I'm getting <15mbps speed, even when I'm just next to the router. I have 0 wifi networks near my house so I live it on channel 1. It wasn't like this before, I usually get the same speed on 2.4g as on 5g. I don't know what happened. Plz help.
Thank You.

What is the bandwidth you paid?
With one device connected to the C20's wifi, please run a speedtest and show us the test result;
At the same time, please check the wireless negotiation speed, instruction as below: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2265/
Meanwhile, you can try to adjust some wireless settings, like change the channel to 1 or 11 and change the channel width to 20MHz.
Besides, there is a guidance you can refer to as well.

Changing channel and mhz did nothing.

Have you ever checked the wireless negotiation speed of your wireless devices as the following instruction?
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2265/
Meanwhile, what about other wireless devices, do they have the same slow speed issue with 2.4GHz?
Besides, please confirm that the firmware is up to date.
And you can hard reset the router by holding the reset button/hole for 10s to give it a go.

Firmware up to date.
Link speed 300mbps.
All the 2.4ghz have pretty much same speed.
I'll try resetting it later.

I don't know how but it got fixed.
Now I'm getting 50mbps even on my wds bridged router.
Our electricity was tripping today and the router was constantly restarting, maybe thats how it got fixed? XD

Thanks for your valued reply, glad to hear that it got fixed finally.
I have to say it is weird but amazing; seems that the power cut did the trick.
You can take more time to test its performance. Any updates, just contact us.

Hi, its happening again. I was on my bridged router suddenly my internet feels slow, laggy. When I ping my root router from my bridged router it was showing 300-1k ping. I restarted both of them, now pings are stable but internet speed is <15mbps just like before (it's like capped at 15mbps).

is there anyway to choose "802.11n only" on Archer C20?

Speed jumps and then decreases on 2.4g, upload and download both.
