Hello,

The powerline adapter does use AES-128 encrypted, while the premise that the powerline backhaul takes effect is that the Deco P7s were added into the same Mesh network;

It can be said that there will be a cloud key shared after the initial setup based on your TP-Link ID, then the powerline function will work combined with the default AES-128.

With 2 Deco P 7 plugged into the wall socket, the powerline won't take effect, and other powerline adapters cannot pair with it either.

May it help.

Good day.

@Kevin_Z

Hi,

it was over a year ago you wrote that the function will be added in the next Firmware - still no such function! So, WHEN will this be added?

You must understand that more advanced users needs much more options to configure the mesh and the different Decos in use! We also need much more ways of checking what is wrong - for instance the colored lights - red means somethings is wrong, but there is no way of understanding what is wrong! It is all fine when things work in a home with only some computers and a few smart phones, but when you add NAS, consoles, TV:s and multi room speaker systems it is NOT sufficient whith current app. You cannot expect the rudimentary configuration options you curently offer to be sufficient in those cases, it is not possible for you to cover all scenarios with pre configured devices (as of now).

So again, when will a more advanced app be released?

@Stabbe for whats it s worth, here is the limited info I could get:

On the App main screen , click on the internet sphere.

This will list your different decos.

Click on One of them and you LL get info on how it gets its upstream connection: name of upstream deco, and transport used (power line and or wifi GHz)

Additional info: you get the live mbps going through this specific Deco.

Not much. Please tp-link give us more! Even if it just in the web interface (this should be cheaper to update, and perfect for advanced users)
