I have an Archer AC 1200 v3 TP Link router and am using a Netgear LB 1120 LTE Modem with T-Mobile data plan. Can't get OpenVPN client to connect in, Can you share the advice they gave you on this thread so I can get mine working?

my isp gives ip under nat by default. if you ask them, they'll give you a public ip for free with no guarantees (they can rollback the decision at any time). Or you can pay and rent a static ip.
I totally ignore T-Mobile policies so I can't say how they behave.

I assume the router opens it automatically
(I don't a "Port Forwarding" page. There is "Virtual Servers" under the "NAT Forwarding" menu). Initially I've tried, cause I was suspecting that this was the issue, but I couldn't make it anyway since in the port page you can specify a network device in the router subnet, but not the router ip itselft)

@epancini did you manage to resolve this issue?
I have the same problem too and I am curious if is there any solution, workaround.

Hello, as you can see the OP's VPN issue was resolved in 2018, this is quite an old thread, it is suggested to open your own to start discussing.
Kindly check the below VPN setup instructions again to confirm all the settings on the C7 are correct:
OpenVPN Setup: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1544/
PPTP VPN Setup: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1545/
BTW, please also provide us your network topology.
Then you can check the VPN Tunnel: login the web interface, and on the VPN Server -> VPN Connections, we can see the status of the VPN Server, confirm if there is a VPN connection enabled. If not, which means the VPN setup is not successful.
You can also refer to this article if the VPN still fails:
