The tapo plugs are not being found by the Alexa App. I have the tapo app enabled and the Tapo skill enabled.

To integrate your Tapo devices (smart plug, smart camera, smart bulb) with Amazon Alexa, follow these steps:

Please note that the steps provided here are general guidelines. The exact process might vary slightly depending on the specific device models and software versions.

  1. Ensure Device Setup: Before connecting with Amazon Alexa, make sure your Tapo device is properly set up, connected to your Wi-Fi network, and accessible through the Tapo app.

  2. Open Amazon Alexa App: Open the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone or tablet. If you don't have the app, you can download it from the app store.

  3. Access Skills & Games: In the Alexa app, tap on the "More" option located at the lower-right corner of the screen. Then, select "Skills & Games" from the menu.

  4. Search for Tapo Skill: In the Skills & Games section, use the search bar to look for the Tapo skill. Search for keywords like "Tapo" or the specific Tapo device you want to connect.

  5. Enable Tapo Skill: Once you find the Tapo skill, select it to view its details. Then, click on the "Enable" button to enable the skill. This will link your Tapo account with Amazon Alexa.

  6. Authorize Account: You will likely be prompted to log in to your Tapo account or authorize the connection between Tapo and Alexa. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the authorization process.

  7. Discover Devices: After enabling the skill and authorizing your account, Alexa will automatically discover compatible devices on your Tapo account. This may take a moment.

  8. Naming Devices: Once devices are discovered, you can assign names to them that are easier to remember and use in voice commands. This is especially helpful if you have multiple devices.

  9. Voice Commands: Now that your Tapo devices are connected, you can use voice commands to control them using your Amazon Alexa device. For example, you can say, "Alexa, turn off  " or "Alexa, show me [camera name]."

  10. Voice Control and Video Streaming: You can control your Tapo smart plugs and bulbs using voice commands. Additionally, if you have Tapo cameras, you can use voice commands to stream video to Amazon Echo Show or Fire TV.

It's important to remember that the voice commands you use with Alexa should match the device names you assigned during the setup process. Always refer to your device's specific user manual or manufacturer's website for detailed instructions tailored to your exact device model.

Keep in mind that software updates and changes to the Alexa app and Tapo devices may affect the setup process. If you encounter any difficulties, refer to official guides provided by Tapo or Amazon, or reach out to their customer support for assistance.
