How to connect the TP-LINK N300 VDSL/ADSL Modem Router to Talk-Talk

Hi, I recently invested in the TP-LINK N300 VDSL/ADSL Modem Router as a second router for my house. I am using the standard Talk-Talk router downstairs, but I have a wifi "dead-zone" in my office. I noticed there was a phone line in there, so I bought the TP-LINK modem router to improve the wifi in the room. I followed all of the instructions, used all of the included cables and turned it on. Both the LAN and power lighta lit up, but even after 5 minuets the DSL light wasn't lit. Any help will be much appreciated.
