Adding A600 powerline adapters to A500 network
Model :
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
Joining A600 to A500 network
For anyone else who is struggling with this, this is how it worked for me:
First, download the tpPLC utility downloaded from the TP-Link website, install and run. Insert the two AV500 devices in the desired sockets. Press the pair button on the side of the main unit (the one connected to the router) and hold until the LEDs start flashing – takes 5 seconds at least. Repeat this for the other AV500.
Both AV500s should appear in the utility screen after a minute or so.
Copy the key letters from the back of each A600. Insert one A600 in the socket where you want it to be. Press the Add Devicebuton on the utility and type in the key, then save. The device should show on the utility after a few moments. Repeat with the other A600. Note that the A600s will, in my experience, simply disappear from the utility display if they are not connected to something such as a laptop or set top box. This caused me much head scratching.
Not at any time was I able to add the A600s using the pair buttons.
Hope this helps someone.
