TL-WR902AC in Client Mode - Network Configuration ??

Hi there,
I just got my new AC750 wireless travel router (TL-WR902AC) and want to configure it in client mode for my Qnap NAS.
I started to configure it with my Macbook and had some Problems.
Here is the configuration:
I switched the button on the outside to "AP/ Rng Ext/ Client"
I plugged in the LAN ethernet-cable between the AV750 an my Macbook.
I configured Client Mode, LAN and connected to my WiFi Network (2,4Hz; IP 192.168.2.1/24)
The LAN-address of the AC750 is 192.168.2.101/24 with gateway set to my WiFi Router 192.168.2.1
My MacBook has the IP 192.168.2.100/24 with gateway to 192.168.2.101 (got that over DHCP)
So all is in the same network.
Funny thing is:
If I check the connections with the diagnostics menu on the AC750, I can ping my WiFi Router and even www.google.com on the internet.
Everything seems to work fine, but if I start to ping my network/internet from my Macbook, I can only reach the AC750 with IP 192.168.3.101 but nothing more.
No WiFi Router, no internet. I am aware, that I am using the same network on LAN und WiFi side.
Maybe I am wrong, but I thought in client mode the AC750 should behave like a normal WiFi Stick, so that shouldn't be the problem.
I don't want to configure two 'router like' networks with NAT and so on...
I want my Qnap as a normal, exposed host in my home network.
What is my mistake??
Thanks
