Hi.
Bought this router yestedar and everything is working, except firmware upgrade.
Im am using the version: 1.1.2 Build 20161025 rel.45517
Last version 1.3.0 Build 20161018 rel.71163 (according the Firmware Upgrade option)

When I try to upgrade via web interface, it shows there are a new version. When I click Upgrade, after the download, it shows the message: Unable to download the firmware file.
I've tried tought Google Chrome (using Windows 10 and Chrome OS) and Microsoft Edge. So I tried the TP-Link Tether for Android, It shows the new firmware being downloaded, upgraded and restarts the router... but no upgrade happens, still the old firmware version.
Thanks for help.

I have the same problem (same router with the same firmware version).
I couldn't find the new firmware version at the TP LINK website (to try manually), neither the old version that I'm using now just to check the version history.
Any update?

i think Build 20161025 is newer then the one 161018, so we can't upgrade it.

You can do it

There are two ways of doing it:

1. a) I went to the tp link website for my region and downloaded the firmware for my device version (v3). I manually updated it after I backed up the router config (the version for Romania was 1.2.0). This sets the date to the one used in their online update system.
The date used in the factory firmware is the one (probably, not sure) when the router was built.
b) I pushed the online upgrade firmware button. It automagically updated. Restore config from the interface.
2. Download the firmware for v4 which is also for v3 (it says in the router web interface Firmware version: 1.3.0 Build 20161018 rel.71163(4555) Hardware version: ArcherC9 v3.0/v4.0)
Upgrade manually. Restore config.
