Hi Tp-Link forum,
Is there any reason for the internet connection speed being slower than tp link pairing speed? I have a PA8030P kit connected at ~645 Mpbs (reported by tp link software) and a 300 Mbps fiber connection, however, connection speed tests in internet only reach ~200 Mbps behind the PLC but I get full speed while connected to router directly.
If the speed connection reported by tp link software is not directly translated to internet speed, what is it?
Regards,
Malcom

Simply speaking: Raw line bandwidth does not equal payload throughput.

I can understand that, but two thirds of overhead seems like a lot to me.

Make sure you have the latest firmware - older ones were substantially poorer in payload throughput.

Same problem for me.
AV2000 is supposed to work at 2000Mbit, syncs at 300-400Mbits and final downloads are 60-80Mbps. :(

Hi all,
I have exactly the same problem with a pair of PA8010P.
The PLC software shows a "rate" value of 480 Mbps but when doing a speed test between my PC and the fiber router (300/300 Mbps) I only get around 160 Mbps.
What's going wrong? What does the "rate" in the software application means? Shouldn't I get the maximum of my internet connection (300 Mbps) if the PLCs are synchronized at 480 Mbps?
Thanks in advance for your help.

It seems that the payload is ~1/3 whichever model are we using.

Thanks you for your answer.
But it would be great if people from technical support could confirm that.
The theoretical speed is 1200 Mbps. You loose speed according to your power lines down to 1/2 (at the best) or 1/3 (my case). And then you loose 1/3 again because the payload? I don't see it.
At the end, from the theoretical value (1200 Mbps) you get only 1/9 (160 Mbps from 1200 Mbps). It doesn't seem reasonable to me.

Neither to me, I'm just stating my guessing. It would be indeed really helpful the comments of a technical support.
