Archer VR600 DNS Settings

Hardware Version: Archer VR600 v1 00000000
Firmware Version : 0.2.0 0.9.1 v0057.0 Build 160614 Rel.41735n
ISP : Plusnet
Hi. Tried setting these to Google's DNS in the WAN Interface Advanced settings but although the router saved the settings and reset my PPP connection, even after restarting my laptop, when I do an ipconfig /all the DNS server points to my router's gateway address. Is this correct or am I missing something on how you can configure DNS settings on the router?
