Model : ArcherC9

Hardware Version : v1.0

Firmware Version : 4.1.0 Build 20160517 Rel. 35411

ISP : Plusnet

Trying to restrict access for certain devices using the time based scheduler under parental controls. When you select the times, I am unsure if this is for selecting the time it can be used or the times for restriction. Either way (I've tested both), once selecting and enabling a device it doesn't work. I have also content filtered on a word ('google' for example) and that doesn't seem to work either. All the guides and YouTube videos are showing older firmware. There also seems to be no way to do this through the firewall now either.

I bought this AC1900 as well because of the parental controls, and I was really disappointed that it does not work.
All the posts in Youtube show different user interface.

This is really frustrating, I am thinking of returning this to the store because there is no sense anymore.

It is a bit disappointing. I usually thoroughly recommend TP-Link products, but this is one glaring omission, especially when the functionality is there but doesn't work!

Restrictions for https websites such as Youtube will be added in later firmware release for C9 V3/V4.

OK, so will C9 V1 get the same firmware, or we need to upgrade router?

Yep, but it will be firstly added in V3/V4 version, then updates on V1/V2.

That's great news. However, with regards to the original question. Is it usual to add elements to the firmware/UI that are essentially features to be enabled (at a later date)? I'm assuming then, that the parental controls etc are just there in spirit, and are to be implemented later?

Hi, I have now the Archer C9 v3/v4 and the 1.3.1 firmware loaded. Still the parental control is not working. I am following all instructions, so what am I doing wrong?

I definitely purchased this product because of parental control and it doesn't work. Very disappointed with this. I took time to set it up and nothing. Do I really need to block and unblock every day?
