Archer C5 No internet connection when connected to Modem.

Have had this Archer C5 router for just over a year now without any issues until this week. On the first occasion we lost internet connection (the light went out on the face plate) for a few hours, but it mysteriously came back. A few days later we lost connection again...and it hasn't worked since. I went as far as calling my internet provider and they made a service call to check out my service. They switched out the modem, ran new lines and still the router does not get internet connection. I can't even access tplinkwifi.net. Bizarre...does anyone have any idea what could be causing this issue, is there an easy fix, or should I just pitch the device and get a new one.
