Archer D2 ADSL2+ incompatible with Zen (UK)
Model :
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
Model: Archer D2
Firmware version: V1_160216 (EU)
ISP: Zen Internet
A while ago, I bought an Archer D2 to replace my old Netgear DGN2200, primarily because I wanted gigabit LAN support.
With my previous ISP (Demon Internet), everything was fine - DSL worked as expected, and with slightly better connection speed than before (~15Mbps). I then switched to Zen Internet, and encountered a strange issue: the DSL connection cannot establish itself unless I force the DSL mode to ADSL2 (or lower) instead of Auto or ADSL2+; this connects, but only at around 9Mbps. If I switch back to my old Netgear, it connects happily in ADSL2+ mode at ~14Mbps.
The debug logs appear to show it establishing the connection briefly but failing to receive a response to the authentication request in 2+ mode. In every slower mode, it works fine.
Is there another version of the DSL modem firmware (even a beta one) I can try?
