I am a novice

I have a fibre optic broadband router cabled to the new Archer C9 and a Pc cabled to the C9.
The the Internet and wireless works well.

My problem is, I have tried to create a network, wireless laptop - broadband router - C9 - pc
I cannot get the laptop to see the pc.... If I take the laptop to the C9 it sees the pc and I can transfer files. However I need it to go through the broadband router.

I've tried to alter the IP address, turned off the dchp but it's having none of it

Can someone please help

It's normal that the laptop couldn't see the pc when you create a network like wireless laptop - broadband router - C9 - pc,
Because C9 is an NAT(Network Address Reservation) router, which means that it will translate the IP address of pc into C9's WAN IP address, so that the pc could communicate with devices on the external network. In this case, the laptop and the pc are in two different IP segments (laptop in dsl router's while pc in C9's segment).
For example, laptop gets an IP address of 192.168.1.100 from the broadband router, while pc gets an IP address 192.168.0.100 from C9, they are in two different segments thus cannot communicate with each other directly.

To solve this problem, it's recommended to setup C9 as an access point thus both the laptop & pc can get IP addresses from the broadband router.
