TL-WA855RE US/v1.0 huge bug affecting all versions
Model :
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
i bought this repeater/extender to get better coverage in my house
i was using a WA850RE before but lacked some range
because i have alot of devices connected to my network (tablets, phones, smart tv's, network drive, smart switches...) my main tp-link router (WR940N) with latest firmware is using dhcp to assign pre-configured ip addresess
before upgrading to the WA855RE my other tp-link repeater was forwarding the assigned ip addresses to their respective MAC addresses
the WA855RE has dhcp enabled by default, even when you set it to auto or off, it keeps assigning random ip addresses that i dont want
this is causing problems in my network because now my parental control system is useless, smart switches that cant be found, port forwarding breaks if the ip addresses dont match
ive bought the WA855RE with the latest firmware, ive tried factory reset several times, ive tried downgrading and again factory reset....
the problem seems to consist in all versions of the firmware
i also found out the MAC address doesnt match of the extender
inside the management page and on the label itself it is listed as 84-16-F9-33-FE-49 but when i let it connect in reality its MAC is 82-16-F9-33-FE-49
also ive found out in the main router all devices connected trough this extender are somehow corrupted and given the first 3 hexadecimal numbers as the extender
