Hello,

I'm trying to upgrade my firmware to V5 but I kept getting this error message. Bin file downloaded from this website

Error code: 18005 Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name

Currently:

Firmware Version:
3.12.5 Build 100929 Rel.57776n

Hardware Version:
WR941N v2/v3 00000000

I've tried V4 and V5 with no luck, wont bother downloading V6 since the hardware doesn't look mine at all (its black)

and I'm running Windows 10

Any help would be appreciated

Current Firmware: 3.16.9 Build 151102 Rel.59672n

Trying to load TL-WR940N_V3_150312

Error: Error code: 18005
Upgrade unsuccessfully because the version of the upgraded file was incorrect. Please check the file name.

Verified router is V3 downloading file from http://www.tp-link.com/en/download/TL-WR940N.html#Firmware

Hi there, people!

First check this article - http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-46.html

Please, note that vX is talking about hardware version and for each HW version usually you have more than one FW versión.

So, let's check your stuff:

WR941N v2/v3 - last FW version is of date 100929 #|||# If you want better performance, I suggest you to consider buying a new router.

WR940N v3 - latest firmware - http://www.tp-link.com/res/down/soft/TL-WR940N_V3_150312.zip
