Port forwarding for idiots

Can someone please help me, I currently have an AC1750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit ADSL2+ Modem Router that I have connected to my sky tv hub to act as a wireless access point as the hub only has 2.4Ghz.
That is working fine but I am unsure of how to forward ports for on-line gaming. I have all the required ports forwarded on the hub but, as I am now wirelessly connected via the AC1750 do I also need to forward the ports on this and if so, can someone give me an idiots guide on how to do it please. Do I do it through virtual server or port triggering ????
