hi guy,

I am using W8970 modem + router.

1st, I have switch it wifi router access only.

2nd, I tried to change the lan ip address following the instruction from the tp link FAQ, as I would like to change it to 192.168.0.1 (default is set at 192.168.1.1)
when I click save, modem just stuck there, after 1 or 2 mins webpage show error and I am unable to access the router anymore. any solutions here?

I have tried to reset the router, and it goes back to 192.168.1.1 (Default)...

Hi,

If you change the IP class (coming from your mask 255.255.255.0), you have to reset your client adapter in order to give it a corresponding IP address...

Do you have marked "obtain an ip address automatically" in network card configuration?

yes I have marked obtain an ip address automatically. and I can ONLY change the router gateway to 192.168.1.2 (by enabling option "enable 2nd gateway address"

so my main gateway : 192.168.1.1
my 2nd gateway (optional) : 192.168.1.2

My objective is to change the main gateway to .0.1 ,afterall it doesn't seem to work, as I try to change to .0.1, and reaccess thru .1.2
modem seems like stuck& hang, and I have to do manual reset in order to reset It back to factory setting.


(I am using factory setting version, I never managed to get It connect to internet and update the version)

Check your PC IP address because if it remains in 192.168.1 you can't access your TP-Link after change...
