Archer C8 disconnects when connected to AV1000 Powerline kit

I have recently bought an AV1000 powerline kit and I have problems when connecting it to my C8 router. The bridge works for some time but randomly the router stops working; internet stops working (in both the computers connected directly to the C8 and to the other side of the bridge) and I cannot access the router itself through its ip adress. As soon as I disconnect the ethernet cable between the C8 and the AV1000 the C8 starts working fine again.
Any idea of what is causing this problem? As it is I simply cannot use the AV1000 kit.

I'm wondering if you have a DHCP confict and need to change the IP/DHCP range for one device or the other.
When you say you cannot access the router itself through the ip address do you mean with or without the AV1000 running?

I do not think it has to do with DHCP as the problem occurs even when no device is connected to the powerline adapter; just by plugin a router port to it the problem appears. Once I disconect the cable that connects the touter to the AV1000 I can access the router agin through its ip.

Those seem to be contradictory statements to me. You seem to be saying:
1. The problem occurs even when no device is connected to the power line adapter
2. Once you disconnect you can see the router again
Which is it? What connections are you referring to? I mean the power line adapter does connect to the system via the electrical system of the house. Are you the C8 to the AV1000 or does the AV1000 have WIFI capability? I guess I'm not clear on how you are trying to connect the various devices and what you are trying to accomplish. Are you trying to establish two WIFI access points in the same house? More details please.

I'll try to explain the set-up in more detail
The C8 gets internet from a modem
[*]There is a computer connected to the C8 directly via an Ethernet cable
[*]There are several devices connected to the C8 by WiFi
This set-up has always worked fine.
Now I have added an AV1000 powerline kit to connect a second computer in a room at the other side of the house to the C8, with Ethernet cables between the C8 and the first powerline device and a also with Ethernet cable between the second powerline device and the far away computer.
The problem is that this new set up works for a time but it randomly stops working. When this occurs network functionality is lost for all devices in the network and I cannot even access the C8 by its ip from the computer connected directly to it.
As soon as I remove the Ethernet cable connecting the C8 with the powerline kit the network starts working fine again, obviously except for the far away computer which is no longer connected to the C8. So it appears that the C8 is getting confused when I connect it to he AV1000.
Also I have seen that this occurs independently of the on/off state of the far away computer; that is why I do not think it is related to the DHCP.

I still think it sounds like a DHCP conflict caused when both the C8 and the AV1000 since in effect your setup is using the AV1000 either as a repeater or a second access point. Sooner or later they both happen to land on the same IP so you need to change the IP and the DHCP range of one or the other. Check this out:

Are you getting any particular errors in the logs for the modem or C8?
What brand and model AV1000 are you using? On the adapter, do you ever get indicator lights suggesting a poor connection?
Do the adapters have a powersave function? Is the connection between the adapter and wall outlet loose at all?
It is possible this is a DHCP conflict. Is more likely a DHCP issue if the AV1000 has built in Wifi capabilities; in that case there is a whole other interface to access and configure.
Though, I have never seen a case like this where a single network device cripples an entire network and at the same time the issue can be resolve by pulling one cable.
It is also possible the powersave functions are creating issues. I have seen it with devices on the ends of powerline adapters as well as cellular devices, apple in particular, holding onto ip's that get re-assigned; but in those cases, only those devices are locked out until their network settings are refreshed.
Do you use or have you tried using IP reservations to Rule Out a conflict?

The model is TP-PA7020P and they do not have WiFi. In fact, as far as I can see, they just operate as a bridge; the are not DHCP servers, the ips are handled by the C8.
Anyway, after some tinkering it seems the problem has dissapeared. I did two things, so I do not know which one solved the problem.
First thing I did was, after reading the more complete manual on the web, to connect the powerbus I use for the C8 and the computer directly to the AV1000 kit plug, instead of connecting it to a plug next to the AV1000. I did the same for the other computer.
The second thing was to factory reset the kit and this time configure both devices using the utility rather than using the pairing button on the units.
They have been operating well for two days straight, so it looks it is fine now.

Yes, you are right; there is no wi-fi component.
Glad the utility or whatever else you did seems to be working.
