SNR tweak and the IP address of print server

I had tried using TP-LINK USB Controller on Mac OS X - EL Capitan - it doesn't work. However, is there an IP address of the print server that I can connect manually?
I have seen other TP-LINK routers that can be connected manually without the need for software.
Also I noticed there's no SNR adjustment function on this router? I have tried using Telnet but it doesn't work. The reason is simple: I live a long way from the exchange so my speed is around 1-3 Mbps.
