Hi All,Firstly i apologise for my first post being a question, but i have been playing with NAS (using nas4free). I am with sky isp which as you probably know give out a terrible router (no gigabit for one). So i bought a Tp-link archer D7. I have got the internet working no problem after extracting the username and password. But i am having issues with the port forwarding. I have been trying to open ports by setting up by sorting the virtual servers using both TDP UCP protocols. Wan Ip is external. But the ports are still showing "connection refused" check with canyouseeme.org.I have been googling it to see what i am doing wrong, but to no avail. funnily enough i did have it all working with the sky hub.Any help will be greatly appreciated.Kind regards, Luke

I am not familiar with Sky IP, but maybe I can try and help.
Are you using a separate modem or gateway and router? Or, are you just using the Archer D7?

It makes a difference if you have to setup like this: http://portforward.com/help/doublerouterportforwarding.htm

Hi Almaretto,

Thanks for your reply, and sorry for this late one.

My D7 is being used as just a router attached to the skyhub as the modem. Am i right in thinking the double router forwarding doesnt apply in this senario?

I have set the DMZ to the D7's ip on the skyhub. After this i have set the ip for my Nas4Free server as the Virtual servers in the D7 and for some reason one of those (8040) ports has opened. But i am trying to open another the exact same way and i cant for the life of me get it to work.

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

Kind regards, Luke

Double routing only applies if you have double NAT (eg using two routers with DHCP/WAN ports).

Am I thinking of the wrong product: http://www.tp-link.com/res/down/doc/Archer_D7(UN_V1_QIG_.pdf?

Usually, if you have a straight forward (modem --> router) setup, you can input internal/external ports with the device of interest's internal IP (eg IP camera, NAS).

You use DMZ for services like XBOX and some cell phone network extenders.

I have used an Addonics NAS before, but never personally Nas4free.
