Hi,

Installing the device SW for WiFi adaptor TL-WN822N fails.

Keeps coming back with Windows 7 Error code 31, can't load driver.

Can see the device in the Win device manager list, but with the yellow question mark. Can see the driver in the device Properties.
The TP-Link configuration SW asks me to plug in the adaptor as it can not see it.

My PC config is Win 7 32 bits service pack 1.

Tried disabling/enabling the device from device manager, uninstalling driver and re-installing including manually a driver I downloaded from the TP-Link web site, restarting the PC etc - all several times. Nothing helps.

Any ideas?

Try to install the driver manually.

The driver can be copied from the disk or download here.
http://www.tp-link.com/en/download/TL-WN822N_V3.html#Driver

Thanks, however I had already done this to no avail. Neither manual or automatic installing the driver does not help.

Meanwhile also tried deleting the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\Config
as suggested in https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725584(v=ws.10).aspx

but this too did not help.

Your WN822N is V3, right?
Try chipmaker's driver(Realtek RTL8192CU) here.

Thanks Vivian but nope. Didn;t work. Probably something in the Win. Registry etc.?
Any ideas?

No more ideas. You may try on a different computer to figure out it is an adapter issue or PC issue.
