This was more of a me too posting except my PCs are showing 1 Gbps connections.

How did you measure the speed of 100 Mbps over the wired connection between the two PCs?

Does 1000M negotiation uplink from the Archer C7v2 to a gigabit switch work for someone? If yes which switch hardware do you use?

Yes, works for me. Archer hardware is v2.0, software is latest firmware (2017 beta), switch is TL-SG2008. To my knowledge, the patch cable can make a big difference. Never use cheap unshielded (UTP) cables for Gigabit. Although CAT.5e should be sufficient, I had such problems with most unshielded CAT.5e cables on Gigabit devices of all sort. Use shielded CAT.5e or better shielded CAT.6 patch cables only (not even CAT.6 unshielded flat cable, these are also crap!).

I see. However, Gigabit speed on Archer C7 works for me. iperf running on a MacBook directly connected to the Archer (graph shows bandwidth on input of the Archer):

Archer is connected to a TL-SG2008 testing against a Dell server running Debian Linux (graph shows bandwidth on output from Archer):

If you can't get it to work, I would recommend RMA'ing the unit, maybe there is a HW problem with it.

Both Windows and Debian show bandwidth utilization running at 10% when on the Archer. I move the patch cables to my gigabit switch and the bandwidth shows almost 100%. I am using the same patch cables. Both patch cables are STP CAT 5E. (Not flat and work fine on gigabit switch)

It would be nice if TPLINK would suggest the RMA route. The response they gave was from someone that is non-technical and has no clue how networking or routing work.

Thank you R1D2 for testing and trying to help. :)

Hello,

sorry for the delay of my answer ...

It seems that I have found the issue of my low speed behind the archer

In my configuration the Archer is connected to my main router by LAN link - then WAN is then "free"

At the beginning I haven't "configured" this port and I have loww speed

In a second time, I have add fix address for WAN (with unreachable values 192.168.253.x)

Now I have similar speed values as the main routeur
