Archer VR900 random error "Please try to configure your DNS manually."
While I have tried many times resting and reconfiguring. I am on the latest Firmware version. Do not have this issue with the other ADLS router I have. Strange thing is sometimes I have to manually reboot the router as it completly stops responding (Wired and wireless). I will check if going back to previous F/W version helps.

@Noufi I don't see any status in the advanced box that suggests if the DNS is connected or note. I only see the DSL connection status.

@Noufi It shows the DNS address but not any indication of if its connected to them or not.

@Drave well I assume that if it shows them it is connected to them. But I may be wrong...

The 'Configure DNS message' still occurs, not as frequently.
The temporary band aid for my VR900 EU v3 setup seems to be using Google's DNS 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 and firmware "Firmware Version:0.3.0 0.9.1 v0069.0 Build 200228 RC.33306n", not much else to add.
I have temporarily abandoned using the beta firmware for this VR900 EU v3 for now; will eventually abandon this brand and their products once this router gives up the ghost.

@4x3.2x9 Irish user here, on an ADSL link with Eir Ireland, 4Mbs down , 384Kbs up. Issue still occurs, less frequently, on firmware 200228. DSL link stays up but Internet in disconnected state with the 'configure DNS manually ' message. On another note I've noticed this router does not like IP addresses set manually outside the DHCP range. This causes high traffic volumes and generates the DNS message. I had a CCTV camera installed with a manually set (192.168.0.220) address outside the DHCP range 2-200. Anytime I plugged it in it would immediately generate the DNS message. changing it to DHCP and reserving the address resolved the issue. Manually setting IP should work fine but this router just does not handle it well.

Thanks, I tried all the suggestions. The screen shot shows 'Connected' as I had rebooted the VR2800 in order to access this forum and post my message!
Prior to this it said 'Disconnected. Please try to configure...' as this thread is about.

@Jeff2020 There is a beta firmware for the VR900 which is supposed to fix the issue, I believe I saw a similar beta for the VR2800 mentioned during my research into the problem, it might be work mailing tp-link support and asking for it? I don't have the link myself sorry.
