@Thyss If you just install your card, Windows with install automatically that Atheros driver.  My experience is that it works for a while and then crashes.  But I have downloaded latest drivers from tp-link and found the Windows 8.1 drivers will work in Windows 10.  This is an old thread so probably nobody cares anymore. But there are two versions of this card.  The older one has a speed of 300 Mbps, the newer one has a speed of 450 Mbps.  I have found that the latest drivers for the newest version has the drivers that will work on the older card as well.  I am having no problems with stability with this driver. However, there are a lot of things that can affect speed.  Normally you have to have a 5Ghz signal or 2x2.4. Otherwise you wiill only get 144 Mbps.  To get it in 2.4Ghz you need to use a 40 Mhz channel, but whether a device (router) will support that in 2.4Ghz depends on the design.  Many do not and limit you to using a 20Mhz channel.
