Hi

I have a USB drive attached to my router setup as a media server and everything works accept that when viewing the server from a DLNA device like my PS3 or Sony TV it sishows videos as on the hard disk which I have previously deleted.

If I access the drive using SMB from wither a Windows laptop or my Mac the files are not on the disk.

How do I get the AC1750 to somehow refresh the lists of files it is serving?

Thank you for your help

Regards

Check in USB Settings - > Media Server there is a Scan button, but for fixing this in the future so you won't have to click that button, you can set an Auto scan by checking that box and select the time you want.

TP-Link doesn't have full DLNA certification and sometimes has collaboration problem with multimedia devices.

Hi, thank you for your help but my router does not a Scan button, in fact my menu does not have USB Settings -> Media Server

I have USB Settings -> Folder Sharing and there is no scan button.

Any further advice appreciated.

Do you have the latest firmware? Cause when I go to the emulator for your router ( http://www.tp-link.com/resources/simulator/Archer%20C7_2.0/Index.htm) it shows a USB Settings -> Media Server -> and here you have an Auto-scan every X hours feature.

Hi,

Your menu is not correct.
Could you do a hard reset with the back button?
Don't restore an old back-up (done with a previous version)...

Hi,

Your menu is correct and not the same of the old one displayed by the C7 emulator.

Under Folder Sharing, the Media Server Name is displayed and you have to set the sharing parameters...

As you can see on your screen shot, the Media Server Name (TP-LINK_C7BFCC) is not customizable.
There is a lot of data like that (workgroup, volume name, etc.).
I tried to report this situation but either the R&D persons don't care or they are not capable to fix it...

If you really want a good media server buy a Netgear router...
