Hi, pretty basic questions I'm afraid:

I bought a TD-W8980 wireless modem router last year to use with my PlusNet ADSL broadband and have been very pleased with it. We've just got FTTC fibre broadband in the village and I plan to upgrade my PlusNet service to their unlimited fibre offering.

Will I still be OK to use the TD-8980 (in "wireless router" mode) with the BT Openreach-supplied fibre modem or, as PlusNet seem to be suggesting, will I need to ditch the TD-8980 and use the new router they say they'll send me? Their approach seems to be "we can't support anything other than our router".

How complicated is the set-up process of switching the TD-8980 to work in this mode with the new fibre broadband service ? Is it simply a matter of switching the "Operation Mode" on the router admin page and following instructions or does it require some more specialist knowledge? Having taken a fair while to get it set up originally, I'd like to avoid another day of poring over settings and options!

Many thanks.
