Hi,
I have already sent this to tech support however, posting here aswell hoping for a quicker response. I have got this archer c9 from amazon a few weeks back. I have set it up without any issue however, the range of the router seems to be really weak. my apartment is not huge, around 1700sqft however, the router is not able to cover the entire apartment. i have put the router at one end of the apartment and have problems receiving signals from the very next room sometimes. signal is weak and in case of some phones, it often cuts off, while in the very next room just beside the wall. just to make a comparison, i have had dlink dir-615 for 5 years at the same place with same surroundings and it only had problems sending signals at the other end of the flat with 4 walls in between. i have tried disabling 5ghz band, also tried updating to the latest firmware. the firmware update seemed to have weakened the signal even more. ii have also tried different antenna position like directing them towards a certain way, not much of a help. am i missing something? is there something else beyond the standard settings that i should be trying out? hoping for a response asap. thanks.

Are you judging by the fact that this is showing 450mbps as the max speed? Because I have just checked if the range has improved or not by taking a mobile to the other end of the apartment. No change. If this is normal then I have to ask what improvements have been made over a mediocre 5year old router like the d-link dir-615 if the range of the c9 cannot even exceed that of the d-link? I'm especially finding this hard to believe since many have mentioned significant improvement (rangewise) over their older routers, in some cases even some new ones, in many of the reviews. I am getting strong signals from other people's router throughout my apartment.

No, 450Mbps shows only that your settings are good.
I see a strong (-35dB) and flat signal, so for me your C9 works fine !
Unfortunately, you have a lot of other 2.4GHz signals around so your interest would be to use the 5GHz band instead.

I understand and thanks for your effort. I just don't understand why it is not being able to broadcast as efficiently as an older router. Jsyk, I took the screenshot while I was in the same room as the router and later it was showing -45dB from the same position. A MacBook pro failed to connect from less than 30feet away with a corner wall in between. It had no problem connecting from 10feet away with a wall in between. Is this normal?

If you still have the old router, it could be interesting to compare the Acrylic screen shots...

Unfortunately the old one got broken which is why bought the c9. I will try and see if I can manage another router to compare with c9. Will post the result here if I find one.

The higher the RSSI number, the stronger the signal :

600Mbps comes from 256-QAM which is not a standard with the 2.4GHz band.
150Mbps by stream is improved to 200Mbps by the Broadcom chip.
