I have some questions about the feature that most TP-link routers have.
In Bandwidth Control settings page there's a option called "Line Type" where you can shoose between "ADSL" and "Other".
The questions:
1. What is the actual difference between those two options?
2. Is the router uses some kind of special algorythms or optimizing the traffic somehow when ADSL is selected?

If you have a ADSL Modem, choose “ADSL” as the line type. Otherwise, choose Other.

Yeah, that is kinda on the nose. But I wanna understand what is so special about ADSL connection, why it gets such special treatment? Why don't just use one universal line instead of dividing into types?
