Hello,
I have an AX73 router that works well.
However, my internet connection isn't 100% reliable, so I need to switch to a 4G solution for several months, and the AX73 doesn't allow it.

Knowing that I also have three RE300, RE330, and RE700X WiFi repeaters that aren't Powerline
and two PA7017P Powerline sockets, for homeassistant and antenna wifi

Is it better to install a 4G WiFi router (like a MiFi) with an RJ45 port and connect it to the AX73's WAN port,
or switch to a router that can handle 4G and a wired connection, as well as multiple IP addresses? I have home automation equipment, so I need more than 50 fixed IP addresses. Or like a Deco X50 and swapping my powerline repeaters to Wi-Fi, knowing that I'm using three-phase power... so I need outlets that can handle both powerline and Wi-Fi, unless you have a three-phase powerline model.

What would you recommend?

I have a satellite plan for €20 including tax, Starlink is twice as expensive, and I have 350GB for €15 in 4G, hence the switch to 4G, because for six months of the year, it's 20GB per month.

Bonjour,

Qu'auriez vous à me conseiller ?

Merci

J'ai un forfait satelite à 20€TTC, Starlink est 2 fois plus cher, et j'ai 350Go à 15€ en 4G, d'ou ce passage en 4g, car 6 mois de l'année c'est 20Go par mois.

If you're targeting whole home mesh system you have a couple of good choices:

1. Check the Deco X50-4G or Deco X20-4G for Deco mesh.

2. Check this comparison for Easymesh.

Hi@acuponctus,

Thank you for reporting your need to our community.

As terziyski said, most of your network devices are compatible with Easymesh. Please see the list: TP-Link EasyMesh Devices for Home

Please note that only V2 version of RE300 is compatible with Easymesh, and your powerline is not compatible with Easymesh.

If you want to create a Mesh network, you can consider 4/5G routers.

Deco mesh network basically requires that all units are Deco series products to form a complete Mesh network.
Currently, only a few Decos are compatible with Easy Mesh technology and can form a Mesh network with other non-Deco EasyMesh devices.

Hello, and thank you for your replies.

It's not a problem if I have to change the repeaters. My goal is to find the right solution that's compatible with satellite and 4G, and then the appropriate repeaters or CPL-Powerline/WiFi.
Are there any CPL-Powerline/WiFi outlets that work with a three-phase electrical installation?
Are the Deco systems more efficient than the other NX types?

And finally, I've also found the NX600, NX500, NX200, and the X50.
Are these devices rated for 50 permanent IPs (home automation) via Wi-Fi?

Merci !

Hi@acuponctus,

Thank you for your reply.

If you want to use 4G SIM card as the network source, use powerline, and use Mesh technology, Deco is a good choice - from compatibility, network fluency, network coverage, stability, etc., it has obvious advantages.
If you want to fix the client's IPs, you can set Mac address reservation. The items that can be set for each model may not be the same, and you need to refer to the model you are consulting for details.

If you click on the blue colored text in my previous post, you'll se more details about these devices.

For example one unit of Deco X50-4G can cover about 230 sq. meters area and can handle over 150 devices.

Regarding the topolgy in question:

If you choose a Deco X50-4G device, it will be your 4G main router and there's no need of a separate Modem/Main router (as in the diagram below).

Q4: Do I need to wire all my Deco units together to use the Ethernet Backhaul feature?

No. You can wire any satellite Deco to the Deco unit(s) that you want to use with the Ethernet Backhaul feature, and other units can be connected via the Mesh Wi-Fi backhaul, if desired, allowing you to mix and match your backhaul preferences. In the example below, the Ethernet Backhaul is only being used between Deco units that wired connected together.

For example:

example of wiring all my Deco units together to use the Ethernet Backhaul feature

.If it's necessary you can always add another (wired or wireless) Deco unit to the X50-4G and expand your wireless coverage further.

According to this FAQ Internet connection backup should be possible when using 4G/5G Deco unit in your network.
