TP Link Enable SRA doesn't actually work Archer Modem Router Series
Region : Australia
Model : TD-W8968
Hardware Version : V4
Firmware Version :
ISP :
Currently running the Archer D 5 with newest Firmware.
Network Settings> D.S.L Setting> Enable S.RA ticked.
S.R.A = Seamless Rate Adaptation
So if there is an increase on the noise on the line. The Current Sync Rate should lower to accommodate for the
extra noise, and keep the S.N.R at around 6 DB for a stable connection by default, without you actually having
to drop the connection and retain the line. But this function doesn't actually work, across the whole range of
Modem Routers with S.RA.
Line Status Below are when there is a lot of noise on the line. You can see that my Current Rate is actually
higher than Max Rate resulting in a S NR of 4.8 ( starting to get some packet errors)
Current Rate (Kbps) 1017 9378
Max Rate (Kbps) 1073 9136
S NR Margin (dB) 6.2 4.8
Line Attenuation (dB) 28 45
Errors 0 0
About 3 hours later when there was less noise on the line. Line Status below: as you can see my Current Rate
never changes or "adapts" like it is suppose to with S RA. Current Speed is now lower than Max Speed with 5.8
DB
Current Rate (Kbps) 1017 9378
Max Rate (Kbps) 1076 9548
S NR Margin (dB) 6.2 5.8
Line Attenuation (dB) 28 45
Errors 0 0
