100Mbps To 200 Mpbs

Hi
I just upgraded my home wifi from 100 mbps to 200mbps , while my other router from Huawei actually gave me 200mbps, the Archer C50 only gave me 85-98mbps, i tested the cable alone and it gave me the full 190-200mbps, so the only issue i have is with routher Archer C50, i know it can run up to 300mbps but i tried methods and none of them seem to work (updating firmware, disabling bandwith...), i would love someone with an experience like me or a staff from tp-link could give me some clear instructions on what to do.
Thanks to anyone in advance.

Hi,
According to its specification sheet the Archer C50 V6 has Ethernet ports that only support up to 100 Mbps.
https://www.tp-link.com/en/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-c50/v6/#specifications
The only way to solve this issue would be to purchase a router that has Gigabit Ethernet ports (Gigabit = 1000 Mbps).

Hi @woozle
Thanks for your reply.
I usually access the internet using wifi not ethernet,(i said that i used a cable just to check if i get 200mbps from another router to where the the Archer C50 is)
The specification sheet of the Archer C50 V6 that you provided it to me also shows that the wifi speed in is up to 867 Mbps using 5GHz.
i guess it is fixed on 100mbps unless if some settings are changed.
Thanks for you help.

Ok. If the Archer C50 is used in Wireless Router mode, then the Archer C50 connects to the Internet via an Ethernet cable that is plugged into its (blue) WAN port. Since that WAN port supports only up to 100 Mbps the Internet speed can't be any faster than 100 Mbps (actually 100 Mbps minus some overhead for protocols).

Hi @Aqunix,
Thank you for reporting your issue to our community.
As woozle said, the Archer C50 has one 100M WAN port. Since you are using router mode, you need the WAN port to access internet, which is limited to 100M.
But the internet plan is 200M,you should consider a router with 1G ports.
