AX6000 V2 - Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20250221 rel.13966 (4555) - has it broken your router to?
Dear Community
Have any of you successfully updated your AX6000 V2 with firmware 1.2.1 Build 20250221 rel.13966 (4555)?
Do you use the router's Anti-virus (homeshield) ?
Can you still connect to the internet? Connect from Wifi client to local Wired LAN clients? etc?
I'm interested to know how many routers have been broken by the latest firmware release (1.2.1 Build 20250221 rel.13966 (4555)
(A temp workaround is to switch all 3 options off on the Anti-Virus tab of the router and reboot)
Drop a reply below if it working or broken
Thanks
Shap

Regarding the detailed issue with the new firmware, can I confirm whether both issue occurs or only this "Connect from Wifi client to local Wired LAN clients?" happens?
Since our development team cannot reproduce the issue as you described at the moment, I hope you can provide more details.

@Kevin_Z The issue occurs when AV is enabled. The interfaces between Wifi and LAN is broken. There is no routing between the 2 interfaces (WLAN and LAN), its like a firewall has been enabled to block traffic. Seperately, each interface can connect to the internet independently. You mentioned the engineers can't replicate the error, is that because they have enabled some of the enhancecd Homesheild features and enabled some subscriptions? Ask the engineers to reset to factory the router and retry wihtout enabling the enhanced subscription features

@ShapSMF Thank you very much for the detailed information again.
I've reported this issue to the development team and hope they will figure it out soon.
BTW, it will help more if you could email us the configuration file/backup file on your AX6000 V2.

I got a response from my open ticket - TP-LINK are a joke. they release buggy firmware that breaks the product and then ask you to buy a newer product
See below:
Hello Shap,
Thank you for your detailed feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience this issue has caused.
We truly understand how disappointing it is to experience such disruption, especially when everything was working as expected before the firmware update.
Your concerns about firmware quality and testing are valid, and we’ve taken note of your observations regarding the AV features and HomeCare functionality.
Unfortunately, since the router is currently out of warranty, we're unable to offer a replacement. Additionally, we’re unable to roll back firmware versions directly.
At this stage, we highly recommend considering an upgrade to a newer router model, which includes enhanced performance, updated security features, and active firmware support to ensure a smoother experience.
We deeply value your feedback, and we're genuinely sorry that this experience has not met your expectations.
Please know that your voice is heard and shared with the appropriate teams.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding.
Please expect the email reply within 1 business day. For urgent assistance please contact our Live Chat/Phone support with your ticket reference number.

TP-LINK - how about testing the firmware properly, If you look at the forums, multiple people have the same issue, that your development team have cause. Why is it so difficult for your team to remove the bugs and release a more stable firmware?
Thanks

We sincerely apologize that our support agents did not promptly understand the issue caused by the firmware upgrade. We will ensure our support team is aware of the situation.
Regarding the reported issues, our development engineers are actively analyzing the code and will provide a solution as soon as possible. As a workaround, please temporarily disable the Antivirus to ensure normal communication between WLAN and LAN.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I will keep you updated on any progress and will also share updates in our official post, so please stay tuned.
