Model: TL-WPA8631P KIT
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Not sure

A little help for a newbie please :)

First time user of powerline adapters.

Bought the above kit and i'm trying to set up Mesh. Got Wi-Fi no problem, but hoping to get a better signal to my garage - which by the way is on a different electrical circuit it would seem, so plugging an adapter in out there doesn't work.

I have a Virgin Hub 3 which from what i've read is mesh compatible.

If I leave my Hub in modem mode and lauch my tpPLC app on my phone, it finds both of my powerline adapters. If I click on Device F_984 there's a tab that says EasyMesh. If I click on that it won't set up mesh because my Hub needs to be in router mode.

If I launch tpPLC app on my computer, I can see both devices, but neither is giving me the option to set up mesh.

Okay, so follow the Virgin guide and switch to router mode.

Computer tpPLC is still not showing a tab to set up mesh, and I now can't access my phone app to set up Mesh either.

What am I doing wrong guys?

Thanks all :)

  @Mogs

Thanks for posting question here.

May I confirm the hardware version of your Powerline kit? You may find it on the box label.

TL-WPA8631P KIT V3 only supports Onemesh, TL-WPA8631P KIT V4 supports Easymesh.

So what kind of mesh technology does your Virgin Hub 3 support?

Also, there may be some compatible issue among different brands, as the technical applications may vary slightly.

You may check the related compatibility list from our official website.

And the guides below are for your reference:

Best regards.

Further Googling suggests that Hub 3 doesn't support OneMesh, but has Virgin's own 'Intelligent Wi-Fi. So i'm guessing i'm going to have to buy a new TpLink router/Modem?? If that's the case, what one would you recommend that would work best with my kit? This is becoming expensive! Thanks.
