Hello Everybody,

I have the following problem:

I have bought three range extenders (type: RE200) and all of them make the same problem.

The Wired original MAC Address is (e.g.): 14-CC-20-45-BC -AC but on the network towards the router it sends the following (different from the original) MAC Address: 14-CC-20-45-BC -AD
If a device, for example an iPhone connects to this range extender which has an original MAC Address e.g. 85-EA-95-65-20-8B, then it shows towards the router the following MAC Address: 16-CC-20-65-20-8B
The problem is that the router uses the MAC Addresses to identify the devices and this way the router has to give two IP addresses to one device.
We have more range extenders in the house (type: TL-WA850RE) and these are working perfect.

Thank you for your help in advance,
SEGA

Not much to add, but just a note to say that I've noticed the very same.

The RE200 doesn't seem to act as a Wireless Bridge. I experience two issues because of this:

1) My IP-cameras switch between my main router and the RE200. The combination "static dhcp" (mac-to-ip) + "portforwarding" doesn't work very well this way.
2) My Chromecast switches between my main router and the RE200. Getting connection from my iPhone with my Chromecast can be a burden. Possible reason is that my Chromecast is having two possible IP-addresses in my LAN (depending on which Wifi-endpoint it is connected)

The help page on "Wireless -> Advanced Settings" mentions "WDS/Bridge"-mode, but I couldn't find a way to switch to this mode...

The forum administrator has post a detailed intro about all kinds of WDS..very detailed..

As I understand it, RE200 uses 3-addr-WDS which means it uses virtual MAC address to replace the true MAC address of the client devices.
