Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.1 Build 20240722 Rel. 60491

Hi,

I bought brand new Deco XE75 (3 pack) from Australia and shipped it to my country, Bangladesh in January this year. I have been using it and facing the below issues since then.

Common Issue#

The 6GHz SSID does not appear in the list of 5 devices out of 7 though 'Hide SSID' is unchecked.

Device specific Issues#

1. Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (S-S918B/DS): 6GHz does not appear. Never connects to 5GHz.

OS: One UI 6.1

Purchasing country: Bangladesh

2. Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G (SM-G986B/DS): Same issues.

OS: One UI 5.1

Purchasing Country: UAE

3. Samsung Galaxy S8: Same issues.

OS: One UI 5.1

Purchasing country: Bangladesh

4. Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 (SM-L310): Only connects to 5GHz. Does not connect to 6GHz.

OS: Wear OS 5.0

Purchasing country: Thailand

5. Samsung Galaxy Watch (SM-R800): Only connects to 2.4GHz.

OS: Tizen 5.5.0 2

Purchasing country: UAE

6. Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd Gen): Only connects to 5GHz. This device is less than 1m away from one of the 3 packs. However, it connected to 6GHz only once in its lifetime. I wonder why it now says, "6GHz is out of range".

OS: Fire OS 8.1.3.3 (RS8133/2817)

Purchasing country: USA

7. Iphone 15 Pro Max: Connects to all bands. No issue with this device.

OS: IOS

Purchaing Country: USA

I believe if I can assign channels or a set of channels manually for each netework, the problem can be solved. Could you provide a beta firmware where I can select a channel/set of channels for each band so that channel optimization works within the selected channels?

 As   @Ishtiaque_Rabbi

Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

The Deco sold in Bangladesh has customized firmware that prefers band 4 over 5GHz, while the general EU/US version doesn't. I think that is why BD-purchased devices can't detect the 5GHz band of Deco.

For the 6Ghz band, as the iPhone purchased in the US was fine, I think it might still be due to the different wireless regulations among different countries.

For the Amazon Fire TV, I found some similar feedback via Google Search. So, I don't think the issue is dedicated to Deco.

https://www.amazonforum.com/s/question/0D56Q0000Cq9OdVSQU/fire-tv-stick-4k-max-2nd-gen-not-seeing-my-6e-network

By the way, Will these Samsung devices be able to detect other 6GHz bands around?

Moreover, if you just purchased Deco XE75 from AU, it is also suggested to return it and consider purchasing the same model from the local market. As you can see, the 6GHz compatibility might be an ongoing issue, and the future warranty claim would also be a potential challenge.

Thank you very much and best regards.

@Ishtiaque_Rabbi Brother 5 GHz & 6 GHz is not working for you because Bangladesh and Pakistan both allowed only band 4 channels which are 149, 153, 157 and 161 but when u bought something from outside of your country so there are only band 1 channels which are 36, 40, 44 and 48 which are not allowed in Bangladesh and Pakistan by government.

Hi  @David-TP!

Currently there is no Wifi6 enabled mesh router available in Bangladesh which is why I had to purchase it from AU. We have upto X60 in our country. I ordered the product in last October and received it in January this year. So, I am pretty sure that it can't be returned now to AU. Would have been easier if it was in my country. Is there any way that I could select the channel manually for each band? My brother had also bought another model from Thailand and brought here. His issues were solved once manual channel selection was enabled on his BE65 model. I was wondering if I you could also help me with a similar solution.

Thanks!

Hi  @ARGamingPK1,

For 5GHz, channels from 149 to 165 is allowed in Bangladesh.

For 6GHz, Bangladesh opened band width range 5925MHz-6425MHz in September 2024 for wifi.

@Ishtiaque_Rabbi Deco BE65 model is WiFi 7 model and many WiFi 7 model is supported channel selection feature and Deco X60 is little bit older model and i think they will provide channel selection feature in the future until then you have to wait for it. Have u tried Optimization feature in Deco App because Optimization feature can change the channel and choose the optimal channel acording to environment.

  @ARGamingPK1,

Yes, I am using channel optimization feature now and then. Since only channels between 149 & 165 are allowed here, most routers in my country use that range and other channels outside this range remain free. Hence, channel optimization automatically avoids interference within this permissible range and tries to connect around free channels like 35/36/37 which are not allowed. Ultimately, the result is zero.

I have tried this one already but didn't work. I also tried changing my phone's time zone before switching to flight mode.
